Do your headlights have a foggy haze? Perhaps you've noticed your visibility is lower during the night or in the rain (Thanks a lot, Maine weather). Don't worry. You don't always have to replace them. If this kind of deterioration is relatively new, this can almost always be fixed. Here's how we do it:
The first step of headlight restoration is to sand the headlights with 800-grit sandpaper. This will remove most of the oxidization.
The second step of auto headlight restoration is to sand your headlights with 1000-grit sandpaper. Now, our focus is to remove some oxidization, but mostly to refine the previous sanding marks.
Next up, we sand your headlights with 1500-grit sandpaper to remove more sanding marks. This is when you will begin to notice a difference in the clarity of your headlights.
Then, we sand headlights with 2000-grit sandpaper to refine even more.
The next sanding is done with 2500-grit sandpaper to restore most of the headlight's clarity.
For the final sanding, we use 3000-grit sandpaper until the headlight is almost clear.
Using a cutting-pad, DA polisher, and compound, we'll remove the sanding marks.
To refine the cutting step, we will bring maximum clarity to your headlights with a light polish and polishing pad.
Using high-quality carnauba wax, we will protect your headlights to help prevent further damage.
Prices may vary based on size and condition of headlights. Below is our general price to restore both headlights:

We do not offer headlight restoration as a stand-alone service. You must pair this with an exterior detail.
It depends on the size and condition, but headlight restoration typically takes 45-90 minutes to complete both headlights.
Just like your vehicle's paint, your headlights have a clear-coat to protect them. As the sun beats down on them every time you drive, the clear coat will begin to fade, and the result is an ugly, yellow appearance.
Some ways to prevent your headlights from fading is to get them regularly treated and protected, as well as keeping your car parked in the shade. If you want to save money and regularly treat your vehicle, check out our maintenance programs.
